Details: I have a 1968 Mercury Parklane Convertible for sale. It is a two door. Of the 1112 Park Lane ragtops built for ´68, just a handful were Yacht Paneled, and only a handful are known to exist today. My dad was in the middle of restoring it when he became sick and was unable to restore it completely. Yes, it does need some work, but it does have a new convertible top and new black leather upholstery. It was running when it was put into the garage for storage a few years ago. An expert tested it just recently. The motor is not frozen. The electrical looks good. The convertible top works great. It won´t take much to get it going. I am unable to get it out of the garage itself. I believe that he drained the gas out of the gas tank if I am not mistaken. The body is what I would call in good condition. My dad had taken the original ´wood yachting´ off the sides to replace it. He may have the yachting stored on the side of the garage that I can´t get to. I believe that you can still buy yachting through Obselete Ford Parts if you would want to restore it to original condition. I know the car doesn´t have that many miles on it (around 54,000), but I will get the true original miles for you if needed. The car has been garaged and not left out in the weather. The 1968 Mercury Parklane Convertible has a 123-inch wheelbase and offering V-8s up to 428 cubic inches so it is a pretty powerful car. I have some pictures of what the car would look like if it were restored to original condition. NOTE: THESE ARE NOT PICTURES OF THE CAR THAT I AM SELLING! I just wanted to give you an idea of what it would look like restored. I am not able to take pictures of the car since it is in the garage and I am not able to get it out at this time. The interior is black leather instead of gray as shown in the picture below. I had a car expert roll the car out recently to check it out and he said everything looked great, including the top, body, electric, motor etc. The car is also very wide and long. It barely fits in the garage. The Shriners used to special order certain cars and use them in parades like this special edition 1968 Mercury Parklane Convertible. My father was a Shriner so this car meant a lot to him. You can look more up on this car online. We know that I have to find the right buyer for this car because it is a special and rare car since there are only a handful left if that now. We have the asking price set at $8000.00, but we will consider REASONABLE OFFERS for this rare car or a 2003 or newer vehicle to trade that is in great condition.
