I have had this car maintained and until a year ago was garage kept and only driven in the spring and summer. The car passed emissions in Nov 2011. Details: This 1991 Mercury Capri Convertible only has 65k miles, but it needs work. I only used it a few times each month, and it has been gradually needing repairs for a while, and I don´t need the vehicle, so it is not worth repairing. For sale for parts or repair.The passenger power window motor doesn´t work; the left front strut needs replacing; one of the front tires has a bubble on it; the car overheated recently, and it gets hot very fast, then starts to lose power. THIS CAR NEEDS TRANSMISSION WORK AND WILL NEED TO BE TOWED AWAY. It´s an Automatic trans and a shift servo blew out of the bottom of the transmission. The car runs fine and can be driven onto a trailer, but cannot be road driven as is because the trans fluid leaks out of where the servo goes leaving a trail of fluid as you go down the street. Other than that major issue, the car is excellant for it´s age and everything seems to work just fine. Has a STRONG Dual overhead Cam 2.5 Liter V6 engine. The battery is good and the car starts right up on it´s own even after sitting several months. Has Keyless Entry remote from Ford. Nice Beige LEATHER Interior with NO CRACKS. Power drivers seat, Tilt Steering, Full guages with Tach, Fold down rear seats, 15´ Aluminum Wheels (never Curbed). Spare Tire looks new and has original jack and tire iron. Rear spoiler, Fog Lights, AC blows Cold, heat blows HOT, all lights, switches and windows work as they should. Sunroof tilts and opens perfectly, and never has leaked. Power heated mirrors, 6 speed intermittent Wipers, power windows, Third Brake light in spoiler. Tires all hold air fine and have good tread. Car was owned by a nonsmoker adult with no pets or kids. Body is amazing I see no Dents, and only a few small imperfections in the paint if you look up close. I´ve always kept it covered and it was never driven in the city so the car presents very well. No check engine lights. Should fly through safety and emmissions inspections just fine. I bought this car from a friend since it was so nice I was going to fix the trans and drive it, but I recently got a dog and I don´t want a dog in such a nice car with a leather interior, so have decided to sell it and keep my 200,000 mile station wagon instead. I have owned a couple Mystiques and 1 Contour, and REALLY Love these cars. They are quick, good looking and great on gas, just not practical for me right now. The trans may be fixable for cheap if you can put the servo back in ( I have all the parts), but I assume it shot out for a reason and may need a full overhaul. Details: Mercury Grand Marquise LSCar needs both catalytic converters and all four window regulators, we had it looked at by our mechanic, if your mechanically inclined this will make you a nice car, it does run but won´t go very fast, so if you´re going to drive it more than two miles or so I would trailer it. The LS is the loaded Marquise, power everything and leather, this car needs cleaned but in good shape with no rips or dents, paint is good, car needs waxed. I think it´s the 4.6 V8, owners told us it was pretty good on gas. Wife and I took this on a trade and we are not going to fix it. We found the catalytic converters on EBay for 112.00 each and the front window regulators for 50.00 each, the rear are 33.00 each. So cheap nice car if you can do the work. Were too old and don´t have the tools or knowledge to do so. The car is a 1995 with only 138k miles. We need $800.00 cash out of the car and it is an as is where is sale.
