Details: This is a 1969 mercury cougar xr7 in beautiful condition for only $8900 obo and poss trades. It has a 351 Windsor and c4 automatic transmission with around 20000 miles on new rebuilt engine. Its got 17k+ in receipts could go on and on about what the car has had done to it but you really only just need to take a look at it to see how much money, time and effort has been put into it. It is one of my daily drivers and it is extremely reliable and constantly turns heads.My favorite features would have to be the exhaust, brand new a/c, and fresh interior though there is much more invested into her.The reason for the sale is solely due to my mothers car taking a dump. Details: I am selling this 1969 Cougar it has low miles perfect conditionmust see and drivedrives great!if you are interested please feel free to email me or call 562-991-4178 for any detailsComments: The Mercury Cougar was wider, longer, and heavier for 1969, but a new convertible body style joined the two door hardtop and the Cougar received a serious performance boost mid year with the introduction of the Eliminator package. The Eliminator came standard with the four barrel version of the Windsor 351 cid V8, rated at 290 bhp. Optional was a full range of engines from the Trans Am inspired solid-lifter 302 seriously under-rated at 290 bhp and the 428 Cobra Jet, with and without Ram Air. In all out acceleration, the 290 bhp 302 cid V8 was overmatched by the Cougar´s weight, but the 428 Cobra Jet benefited from the relatively generous wheelbase. Grip was better off the line that the Mustang and 1/4 mile times were just as good. Standard Eliminator equipment included F70x14 in Goodyear Polyglas tires on styled steel wheels with blank center caps. The Eliminator was also available in Drag Pak guise with an oil cooler and a 4.30:1 Detroit locker. Eliminator didn´t use the shaker hood; its standard scoop was functional only when Ram Air was ordered. A black-out grille, side stripe, and front and rear spoilers enhanced the look, and Mercury offered the Eliminator in a palette of ´high impact´ blue, orange, and yellow exterior colors. Even more performance was available over the dealer´s parts counters, which offered not only headers and dual quads, but such exotic hop-ups as deep-sump oil pans and quadruple-carb Weber setups. The car is original- it is the same car that came off of the assembly line in 1968 save a few small aspects: , it has a cassette player , the ignition system and wiring had minor adjustments made. It is the original paint, the original engine, the original interior and even has the original spare tire. The heater, windshield wipers, doorlocks and windows all work great and the interior is practically brand new, it has no tears, the dashboard has no cracks and is all very vintage and authentic. The car has never been in any kind of accident . The sequential turn signals, which are a very cool feature of this car, work perfectly and the hide-away headlights open perfectly . Details: This classic Merc is no lead sled but still has an awesome look and style. In 56 they did it right when they created this classic Mercury Monterey. It has an awesome classic style with lots of chrome and great body lines. This car is very solid and laser straight. It is entirely rust free with no sort of damage. It was repainted a while back the classic White color shines beautifully in the sunlight. This little four door has an awesome profile with a cool line of trim running down the side to break up the paint. This car was built back in the day when cars had some serious bumpers which are still in place and have a nice shine. All of the emblems look great with that classic hood ornament mounted right in place. The side mirrors shine like new and are mounted up on the fenders where they were originally found. The car has fender skirts in place which give it a nice clean look and can be easily be added and removed. The original style wheels and hubcaps look perfect on the car and are still in great shape. The 292 engine powers this thing up and has no problems. With only 150,xxx miles(original) this thing still runs very well. The car is a great driver that doesn´t smoke or have any technical issues. The engine is finished off with the block, heads, Mercury valve covers, manifold, and air cleaner is coated in dark gray. The auto transmission is in place and is an awesome set up. The interior on this classic follows the original, stock style you see on the rest of the car. The seats are all covered with white vinyl that looks great all original. The seats are very comfortable and allow plenty of room. The dash utilizes all of the original knobs and switches which are very nostalgic looking. The original style gauges are broken up into three sections and are all working. I have put new brake pads, calipers, master cylinder and booster. New KYB shocks front and rear, and a brand new custom made dual exhaust system that is nice and subtle that will not upset your neighbours on a Sunday morning!! I also added a Pertronix ignition system to make the car a reliable everyday driver. The electric windows have been rebuilt and the car has a power top with new cylinders and hoses, the top is in excellent condition with a glass rear window.The interior is exceptionally nice, carpet is like new, the seats are excellent, and the dash pad is perfect, not warped or cracked, an Alpine AM FM Cd player has been installed with upgraded speakers behind stock looking door speaker grillesThis convertible body style was only made for 1969 and 1970, so they are pretty rare, only 2322 convertibles were made in 1970 !!
