Details: Here´s a survivor from the 70´s. This is my 1978 Mercury Grand Marquis. I buy estates and this Mercury was in the garage at an estate last year. I have a clear title for this car. It is in nice condition. It has 51,100 miles on it. Judging by the plastic caps in the body, it was rust proofed. There are some dings and small patches of rust around the body but nothing that is glaring. I will give you as clear a description as I can and you are welcome to test drive it . This Merc runs beautifully and is a joy to drive on the interstate. It has plenty of power with a 460C.I. 4 barrel engine. The leather interior is two toned light and dark yellow. There are no tears in the seats. All interior lights work including the vanity visor. The air conditioning works but needs a charge of coolant. The cruise control works. The power door locks do not work. The right rear power window does not work. The other 3 windows work fine. The remote mirrors work. The power drivers seat works. The power antenna works. There is power steering and power brakes. Rear defrost works. It has factory which I´ve been told is unusual.The original 8 track radio did not work when I got this car so it has been replaced by a Sony AM/FM CD. It can play IPOD´s, MP3´s and is Satellite radio compatible. The radio is driven by an amp in the trunk that is installed behind the spare tire. The trunk is clean and large. The exterior is Buttercup Yellow with a yellow vinyl roof. There are some small stains on the vinyl. On the drivers side rear quarter beside the trunk lid the is a scuffed area about 1/4 inch wide and 12 inches long and some buffing scars from a national car wash doing a nasty detailing job. The pin stripping is brown and painted on. It is not vinyl. Both headlights stay open. There is a vacuum leak in the right actuator causing this issue. One headlight cover has a small area where the vinyl has chipped off. There is rust under the car but considering the car has been driven for 33 years some rust is going to appear. The floor pans look good. The engine compartment is decent. This car isn´t a trailer queen, but it´s a great head turner for cruising Saturday nights and having a great time in. You won´t be disappointed. If you are out of the area, I will help if you want the car shipped as long as you make the arrangements.The car is ready for any test drives any time. It gets about 17.9 mpg in town and 23 mpg on interstate. The gas tank is 20 gallons so a full tank usually last 6-7 days but I drive about 50 miles a day to daycare and work! The last 3,000 miles on it are mostly all interstate. New parts include, tires, brakes, intake, thermostat, spark plugs, wires, coils, map sensor, a few other sensors, fuel filter, pullys, alignment, a fresh oil change, radiator flush, changed transmission fluid and filter . All within the last month. There are no dents in it or rust. It is very clean, the leather needs to be detailed but still in great condition!
