I am only selling it because my kids are getting too big to fit in it. It has power windows, power locks, CD player, and has a V8 engine. Both boor hinges have been replaced due to the door being heavy and not wanting to shut right. Now they shut great. When the gentleman fixed the doors he had to take the doors completely off and in that process he somehow broke the odometer. This happened back in June and I lost my job in July so I haven´t been driving it much at all. The odometer reads 124K miles....so I upped it to 130,000 which is probably way to high. It has a decent size trunk. And would be perfect for someone´s first car. I have had it for over two years. The entire time I have had it the check engine light has been on and I have taken it to AutoZone multiple times to get the codes read and they never can tell me why its on so they just clear it but a few miles down the road it will just come back on. Purchased the thing out of desperation about two months ago.Since then, I´ve had it tuned up (wires, plugs, etc.), replaced thecarburator, and had a newish set of tires installed. I´ve got documentation of most of this, if you´re interested. The beast drives beautifully, especially at higher speeds,though what really bothers me is that its fuel sending unit is broken, resulting in the gas gauge showing empty, regardless of how muchyou´ve actually got in the tank. 1974 Mercury Monterey fuel sending units are evidently rather rare parts. A mechanic I trust informed me a replacement could be constructed, though it might take a few days and run 250.00-500.00. For serious, girl runs out of gas so often, I´ve taken to keeping a small bicycle in the trunk, so as to expedite runs to gas stations when i´m stranded. Sometimes this is a fun adventure,sometimes not so much... Haven´t had a ton of experience driving land yachts this massive,thus I managed to scrape off a piece of the trim when turninginto a parking lot. I´ve still got the trim, and understand itshouldn´t be a huge deal to have it reinstalled.All quibbling aside, this thing has STYLE.That mustard color? Pretty certain it´s been illegal to spray cars that shade at least since Reagan was in office. Real vinyl interior, too, which was apparently considered a bonus back in ´74:http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2482/4041919601_a3389f2429.jpgRadio reception sucks, so i´ve seen fit to include a small karaoke machine anda selection of raw indian and middle eastern pop cassettes for you to ride out to. Details: Putting up my 02 Mercury Mountaineer AWD V6 (((3rd row seating))) for sale. It gets really good gas milage for an SUV if you have kids or a lot of passengers it def the right vehicle for you. I´ve replaced a lot of parts within the past month or so, it has a new... Thermostat, thermostat housing, all belts, idler pulley, tensioner pulley, and oil change. Interior is pretty good as well (leather, power seats, heated seats,etc) The only flaws are the little dent in the front bumper and a dime size rust in the rear. Also the check engine is on for now buti got it checked out and its the speed sensor which I have ordered and will have replaced. Im just looking to get something smaller because I´m the only one ever in it. Send me an offer looking to sell soon. The only non functioning item I am aware of is the driver´s side seat warmer doesn´t work. All else appears 100% operational but this sale is, of course, as is. Interior is in pretty good shape other than the seats need to be recovered and new carpet. The bumpers need to be rechromed and drivers side window and both wing windows are cracked. It is still a project but it can be driven while it is being fixed up. The hard stuff is done. This car came from the factory without power steering, power brakes and a radio.
