Details: I have a 1949 Mercury Custom that I may be interested in selling or partial trading for with cash my way. This is no junk, there was over 65K put into this car when it was built. The car was built in California a few years ago and I ended up trading for it last year. It´s an all steel 1949 Mercury with the original frame under it. It has a 1964 Corvette 327 engine, automatic 350 transmission and a late model gm rearend. (Polished aluminum valve covers, intake, carb)The car is equiped with Air Ride Technologies suspension all the way around with the controller being located in the dash pocket. The car is chopped approx. 5 inches, a little more than most. All the glass is in great condition. Those are 1953 Buick headlights. and those are 1959 Cadillac tail lights. The inside has Cadillac leather seats (could use a little professional cleaning)Tilt steering, factory drum brakes on front with late model gm drum brakes on the rear and no power steering. The paint is not perfect, there are a couple of places that needs to be touched up. (this may be done before it goes)The car rides great, I drive it to work every now and then (150 miles round trip) on the interstate part of the way and cruises great at 75mph. The big girl actually gets about 17 mpg if you take it easy. This is not a project car, it has a lot of time and money put into it and wouldn´t take very much to be a perfect show car. I do not need help selling the car, I don´t want any junk trades. There are a few cars/trucks that I may take partial trades for, but I will be picky. The current value of the car is some where between 32k-36k, It wouldn´t take much to make it a 40´s-50´sK car. I would rather have a nice pocket full of cash to help me get over selling my dream car, but I will take a nice amount of cash and possibly one of the following vehicles in trade. Due to the cost, it was decided not to repair it.The car still runs and drives well, but over heats very quickly, and uses large amounts of water.There is some minor damage to the right rear quarter panel from hitting a pole or some thing, I don´t know exactly what happened.The clear coat is peeling in some places.The tires look to be nearly new, very good tread on them.The interior is dirty but pretty decent.There is a missing knob on the heater control but you can still turn it, and there is a wear hole on the driver side seat bolster.That´s about all I know about it, I have a clean and clear title, signed by the owner.
