I only used it a few times each month, and it has been gradually needing repairs for a while, and I don´t need the vehicle, so it is not worth repairing. For sale for parts or repair.The passenger power window motor doesn´t work; the left front strut needs replacing; one of the front tires has a bubble on it; the car overheated recently, and it gets hot very fast, then starts to lose power. I´m not sure what it needs to fix this, and I don´t have any interest in getting it fixed since we don´t use it. THIS CAR NEEDS TRANSMISSION WORK AND WILL NEED TO BE TOWED AWAY. It´s an Automatic trans and a shift servo blew out of the bottom of the transmission. The car runs fine and can be driven onto a trailer, but cannot be road driven as is because the trans fluid leaks out of where the servo goes leaving a trail of fluid as you go down the street. Other than that major issue, the car is excellant for it´s age and everything seems to work just fine. Has a STRONG Dual overhead Cam 2.5 Liter V6 engine. The battery is good and the car starts right up on it´s own even after sitting several months. Has Keyless Entry remote from Ford. Nice Beige LEATHER Interior with NO CRACKS. Power drivers seat, Tilt Steering, Full guages with Tach, Fold down rear seats, 15´ Aluminum Wheels (never Curbed). Spare Tire looks new and has original jack and tire iron. Rear spoiler, Fog Lights, AC blows Cold, heat blows HOT, all lights, switches and windows work as they should. Sunroof tilts and opens perfectly, and never has leaked. Power heated mirrors, 6 speed intermittent Wipers, power windows, Third Brake light in spoiler. Tires all hold air fine and have good tread. Car was owned by a nonsmoker adult with no pets or kids. Body is amazing I see no Dents, and only a few small imperfections in the paint if you look up close. I´ve always kept it covered and it was never driven in the city so the car presents very well. No check engine lights. Should fly through safety and emmissions inspections just fine. I bought this car from a friend since it was so nice I was going to fix the trans and drive it, but I recently got a dog and I don´t want a dog in such a nice car with a leather interior, so have decided to sell it and keep my 200,000 mile station wagon instead. I have owned a couple Mystiques and 1 Contour, and REALLY Love these cars. They are quick, good looking and great on gas, just not practical for me right now. The trans may be fixable for cheap if you can put the servo back in ( I have all the parts), but I assume it shot out for a reason and may need a full overhaul. I´ve seen similar Mystiques with worn interiors and Body damage selling for $3,000 - $4,000 at local used car lots recently and some of them have fewer options as this one. Details: Selling a 2001 Mercury Mountaineer 5.0L V8 AWD. This will make a great second car for outdoors activities, tailgating, home depot runs, etc. Great in the winter! It has 256K miles - most of which were recorded while making 90 mile round trip commute to work. The truck has been very dependable. I have purchased a new car and now need to sell this one. All the tires on the truck have good tread on them. The car has the normal wear and tear for a 2001 vehicle but looks good overall. The car recently failed VA inspection due to the following reason: Front left and right lower ball joints need to be fixed. Cost is anywhere from 600-700 depending on where it fixed. Nothing else is keeping it from passing inspection. It was also suggested by the mechanic it receive new rear brake pads, although the current ones were not bad enough to fail.The ´fair/good´ blue book value for this vehicle ranges between $3300 and $4000.
