Details: 1962 Mercury Monterey Custom 4-Door Sedan. Everything is original to the car except wear and tear items. Sea Blue & Pacific Blue Metallic exterior with Light Blue Vinyl & Medium Turquoise Corinthian Cloth interior. It currently has just over 124k miles. It is the optional 300 hp 390 c.i. V-8, 4 barrel carb, and dual Magnaflow Exhaust with H-Pipe, and the optional 3-spd Multi-Drive Merc-o-matic auto transmission. The motor has never been rebuilt or ´opened´ up. The Transmission was rebuilt November, 2010, along with new u-joints. Also in 2010, all four shocks were replaced, a new high pressure power steering hose was manufactured and put on, original carb was rebuilt, new points and condenser, water pump, and the Battery was replaced in December. In 2009, I replaced the fuel filter, radiator hoses, belts, replaced the seals for the power steering reservoir & pump, had the exhaust completely done from the manifolds back and replaced the old headlights with halogen lamps for better visibility at night. This year I replaced the spark plugs and air filter. I have the receipts for all major repairs that I have done. The car was safety inspected by the National Street Rod Association in June, 2011, and passed with no problems. The inspectors were amazed that the original front-end was still so tight.The V.I.N. breaks down as follows: 2Z62Z525415; 2 = Year. Z = St Louis assembly plant. 62 = Body Series. Z = Engine-390 V8. 525415 = Consecutive unit number. The Door Tag breaks down as follows: 54B = 4-door sedan. F = Sea Blue. 12B = Light Blue Vinyl & Medium Turquoise Corinthian Cloth. 19D = April 19th, 1962 production date. 1 = 3.00:1. 4 = Multi-Drive Merc-o-matic.I am the 4th owner of the car. I bought it in July, 2009 from the family of the 3rd owner who had passed away. He bought it from his aunt sometime in the 1990s. The family was pretty sure she was the 2nd owner, but not sure when she bought it. It is the Custom model with the nicer interior and more outside chrome, plus 2-tone paint on the doors. The body and underside are in great shape except right behind the rear wheels and the tops of the front fenders. There is a little rust in each spot as you can see by the pictures. It has the optional engine and transmission with the 3.00 rear-end, power steering, power brakes, clock (works intermittently), transistorized AM radio (works great), heater, windshield washers, and reverse lights. Everything works as it should, except the intermittent clock. The motor has plenty of get up and go. The previous owner added a battery tender, which I use in the winter because it does not get driven much. I have put about 3,000 miles on it since I bought it. Again, The Merc is all original, except the passenger side was repaired and painted after an accident in the early 1990s. The rest of the paint is original, as is the interior, which is in great shape. It even still has the original Mercury hubcaps. All four tires are like new. This car is in nice shape, but keep in mind that it will be 50 years old in April, 2012. A great classic that you can drive and enjoy NOW without doing a thing to it. ´Survivor´ cars have become more popular over the last few years. I won, or I should say, the car won a trophy this last summer in the Survivor Category. I get compliments all the time on the condition of the car. I bought this car to use for car shows and a weekend driver. I have many original dealer brochures, magazine ads, and factory service manuals that go with the car. The trophy will also go with the car. I know you will enjoy this beautiful Mercury as I have thoroughly enjoyed it. The car was safety inspected by the National Street Rod Association in June, 2011, and passed with no problems. The inspectors were amazed that the original front-end was still so tight.I am the 4th owner of the car. I bought it in July, 2009 from the family of the 3rd owner who had passed away. He bought it from his aunt sometime in the 1990s. The family was pretty sure she was the 2nd owner, but not sure when she bought it. It is the Custom model with the nicer interior and more outside chrome, plus 2-tone paint on the doors. The body and underside are in great shape except right behind the rear wheels and the tops of the front fenders. There is a little rust in each spot as you can see by the pictures. It has the optional engine and transmission with the 3.00 rear-end, power steering, power brakes, clock (works intermittently), transistorized AM radio (works great), heater, windshield washers, and reverse lights. Everything works as it should, except the intermittent clock. The motor has plenty of get up and go. The previous owner added a battery tender, which I use in the winter because it does not get driven much. I have put about 3,000 miles on it since I bought it. Again, The Merc is all original, except the passenger side was repaired and painted after an accident in the early 1990s. The rest of the paint is original, as is the interior, which is in great shape. It even still has the original Mercury hubcaps. All four tires are like new. This car is in nice shape, but keep in mind that it will be 50 years old in April, 2012. A great classic that you can drive and enjoy NOW without doing a thing to it. ´Survivor´ cars have become more popular over the last few years. I won, or I should say, the car won a trophy this last summer in the Survivor Category. I get compliments all the time on the condition of the car. I bought this car to use for car shows and a weekend driver. I have many original dealer brochures, magazine ads, and factory service manuals that go with the car. The trophy will also go with the car. I know you will enjoy this beautiful Mercury as I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Details: 1993 Mercury Sable LS SHO wagon, white with blue cloth interior, very good condition.This Sable wagon has been professionally converted to the 3.2 SHO motor with automatic transmission. The conversion included the complete subframe and driveline from a 1995 Taurus SHO, so it has the larger / better 95 front brakes and it has the complete R134a a/c system from the 95 SHO. The factory column shift has been retained. The complete dash from the 95 SHO was swapped in, so all the SHO electronics are there including the automatic climate control and factory audio.Approx 38k miles since complete 100k work on the engine including rod bearings, timing belt, crank sensor, crank and cam seals, valve cover seals, plugs, wires, and valve clearance adjustment. According to previous owners, the car and the engine each have around 140k total on them. If you are familiar with the SHO motor, you know that with routine care they will easily run 300k miles, so this one has a lot of life left! As typical with SHO motors, it has a few small oil leaks, nothing significant but will leave a spot on the driveway. At the time of the conversion 2 years ago, it had new brakes and newer struts installed, so it runs and drives great. It also has nearly new alternator, battery, and starter. The vehicle has a Ford reman transmission, miles less than 80k according to the previous owner. The transmission works and shifts fine. Everything works except the a/c compressor is bad (holds charge fine, but compressor will sieze up after running for a while) and the power antenna does not go up/down (motor runs, but the antenna cable is apparently broken). The windshield has cracks and should be replaced, and the carpet is not perfect.The wagon is an 8 passenger, so it includes the rear-facing jump seat in the back. The car is a great sleeper - the only thing on the outside that indicates that it is a 220 hp hot rod is the set of factory 95 SHO Italian slicers with newer tires, otherwise it looks like your typical Sable wagon. The car has been in Colorado and Wyoming its whole life, so no rust at all and the paint is still quite good.
