Details: I have a 1963 Mercury Comet for sale! I hate to do it, I love the car, but unfortunately I don´t have the time to put into her that she needs. The exterior is in good shape minus a paint job needed for the hood and the interior has been completely re vamped with black and white leather bench seats and new carpet. The engine is a straight 6 and I won´t lie to you, it needs a little bit of work. There is a small gas leak, the choke needs to be adjusted and the brakes need to be replaced... but other than that she starts and drives just fine every time! The convertible top still works just fine, there are some minor repairs but really pretty good shape for a car like this. It still has the old school a-track in it but I actually have a really nice cd player I was planning to put into it that I´ll just give you. Oh, she is the classic comet red, but like I said, the hood needs a paint job. I get a lot of looks in the car, really fun and easy to drive and always a conversation starter no matter where you go! Car sold as is, must be towed due to break issue. I am asking $5,500 or best offer, because it´s almost impossible to find a car like this in this good of shape, only needs a tiny but of TLC. It does have an issue with the rear windshield wiper the motor is good but a short circuit/no connection from the front to the back it should be a simple fix, but a headache to run the wire from the front to the back .It passed inspection in september (good until sept 2012) and it has passed inspection the last 4 years so the rear windshield wiper is not a vital function of the vehicle, and that´s why I didn´t bother to fix it. There is no check engine light on and it drives really smooth. I´m selling it because I need to get a smaller vehicle. This vehicle has served us well over the past 4 years and I hate to let it go but my wife bought another newer mercury villager...so this one needs to go. The ac works good and this car is a very reliable vehicle and the same as a nissan quest.And even though it´s a 1998 it looks like a vehicle that is newer. the tires have about 50 percent tread left on them. the brake pads have about 40 percent life on it. I bought a new battery last year in the summer which still has a warranty. 3 year warranty. I have done my best to maintain this vehicle and I always use synthetic oil and have done quite a few of the repairs myself. I believe I´m asking a fair price for this vehicle considering I put a lot more money into it for repairs to keep it going. so please no low ball offers I am in no hurry to sell it. Details: 1968 Mercury Cougar FOR SALEDon´t want to sell it, but we´re going to have to so here it is:I bought this car from a collector as all original and unrestored. This is a resto-mod daily driver. All mechanical work on this car is complete, it runs great with no issues. Will need a paint job to finish the restoration but paint is not in bad shape (very little rust, only two half-dollar sized spots in the sheet metal behind the rear wheels which is real common on these cars and easy to fix, the other typical trouble spots like the back window sill and inside of the cabin cowl air intake have no rust), new front seat upholstery and carpet. I was waiting to do the cosmetic stuff last but never got around to it.Original 302 5.0 V8 motor, C4 Transmission and Ford 8´ rearend, black hardtop with creme interior. 98k original miles with the engine completely rebuilt 5k miles ago. Block is bored .040 over with mild comp cam (slight lope). Rebuilt carburetor and all new cooling system with new pump and radiator (I upgraded the older 2-row radiator to the larger 3-row size with a new shroud and Flex-fan 90 degree angle blade cooling fan). New engine mounts and alternator, distributor cap rotors wires plugs and coil. new battery (bought 3 months ago w/ 2 year warranty), solenoid and battery tray from Mustangs Unlimited. All parts and engine bay were cleaned and painted, and all seals and soft parts replaced. Custom dual exhaust with h-pipe. All the other work was completed about 8k miles ago. Front flip-up lights, rear sequential blinkers and everything else all works great. Originally it had front drum brakes which I scrapped for the SSBC Front Disc Brake Conversion Kit which comes with front rotors, 4-piston calipers with pads, new lines, new brake master cylinder with adjustable proportioning valves. Rear drums were re-conditioned with all new shoes and hardware. Front and rear suspension is totally rebuilt new upper and lower control arms and ball joints. The front suspension is done with the Shelby upper control arm drop modification which lowers the front end 1´ and improves steering geometry. The front coils are new 620# 1´´ lowering coils which puts the front end at 2´ dropped with proper-length gas shocks, the complete Energy Suspension Polyurethane Bushing Kit, a rebuilt steering box and a good set of tires with spare. The rear has new bushings and gas shocks and sits at original ride height with a fully rebuilt Ford 8´´ differential. Rear drop-out is from Randy´s Ring & Pinion and replaced the old 3.00 ring and pinion with a slightly more aggressive 3.50 ratio in Yukon Gears. Also the original 27-spline open carrier was replaced with a 27-spline Yukon Dura-grip Positraction. (Same design as the Eaton Positraction but built with 4340 chromoly spiders and a forged case). Wheel bearings were also replaced.Transmission was flushed and filled with new filter 5k miles ago as well, shifts great. Also the shifter bushings were replaced. Dash is still in really nice shape, and it has a Pioneer cd player and Rockford fosgate 4x6´s in the back.NADA.com lists a this car in good condition at about $15,000 and with the amount of new parts installed it should be worth more than that. It could certainly use some work, but it is a great vehicle if you eventually put some time into it. If you personally fix cars, this van could be a great investment as well. GOOD:- GREAT on gas- BRAND NEW Auto-zone Gold battery with receipt and warranty- New Tires in great condition- Excellent AC, Power windows, radio- Runs and starts every time- Very solid interior/exterior condition (aside from rear dent)BAD:- Shifts poorly-- We´ve been driving it in 2nd gear around the city and it is very steady, but in drive, you can feel it shift awkwardly (We spoke with someone who said these models were notorious for bad solenoids, which would be a simple fix. Also, simple maintenance of filters could do the trick, but I really don´t know for sure...)- As seen in the photo, there is a dent in the rear corner that keeps the back door from opening properly. Because of this, the rear lights are on perpetually so we´ve been pulling the fuse out when we park so it doesn´t drain the battery. This is a simple fix for someone who does body work.- We have a valid Texas title for the vehicle, but since there is a lein on it from previous owners that passed away, you will have to obtain a bonded title from the DMV. The numbers on the block date that its from a 80´s car. It has Trickflow twisted wedge heads and a Crane powermax cam believe about 224 duration on a 114 lsa. The car was originally an auto. I put a Kiesler 5speed swap in it. The 5speed is a T5z, the one the cobra r uses. I also swapped the stock rear end for a Ford 9´ built by Justrearends.com It has 3.50 gears with a track lock and disc brakes. The wheels are 16´ torq thrust 2´s. The car does have rust on the quarter panels and the bottom of thr left side door and on the front of the hood. The brakes dont work because i think it needs a new booster/master. Interior is in ok condition, would look nice with new carpet. I did all the performace work almost 5yrs ago and all the performance parts in the car literally only have 200miles on them at the most. Details: Hey flagger with nothing better to do. Are you just jealous? Well Im at the top again. ThanksI am selling my 1950 Mercury truck. Old Mercury trucks are VERY rare and hard to find. It is the same as the Ford F1 body. It was built as a shop truck to take to shows. I did not build this truck. It was built in St. Louis Missouri by Hot Rod City. It was used in shows and was retired once it won the World Of Wheels Show in the old school rodz section. It was picked by ISCA judges as best vintage truck a few years ago. It has been seen in 8 different magazines in 7 different countries. The body has been channeled 10´ and the chassis is all stock. The floor of the truck sits high due to the channel and the frame not being Z´d. It also has a 6 cylinder chevy engine and a turbo 350 trany. It has a 1950 Mercury car dash that has been sectioned to fit that is painted a nice metal flake blue. 1950 Mercury steering wheel. Seats are tuck and roll from an old drag boat. Custom built tailgate with the same paint as the dash and it has a Frankenstein painted on it with moon devil head 1939 ford tailights. 1956 Ford car headlight rings. Oak wood floor inside cab and in bed. Custom made fuel tanks made from propellant tanks from a Vietnam M1 Tank. New wiring harness. Both the dash and tailgate also have custom pinstriping. New items that I have installed recently. I just installed a new driveshaft with U-joints due to the rear end change. I installed a new Carb this winter along with installing new side cover and valve cover gaskets. It has a Ford 9´ rear end that I just purchased and installed. Radiator has been cleaned and repaired. New electric radiator fan. All wiring has been completed and all lights works. Brake system needs a little more work at the master cylinder but they do work. Just not good enough for me to put it on the road yet. New Optima red top battery. New carburator. New spark plugs and tuned up. New emergency brake handle from Lokar. New Lokar gas pedal and cable. New Lokar shifter. New oil pressure sender, temp sender. All guages on dash work properly except for the fuel guage. Cant install a sender into the propellant tanks. New 6v regulator to power all the dash due to it needing 6 volts and not 12. Rest of truck is all 12 volt. New aftermarket wiper motor. I know I am forgetting something. UPDATE. Just installed a new aluminum radiator with shroud and electric fan. Head was pulled and cut due to head gasket leak. New Wilwood dual brake master cylinder system so brakes work good now. New exhaust pipe installed. Needs emergency brake cables hooked up. Brake system work to get them working better. ShocksI think thats it. I bought this being a show only truck and it wasnt street driven. So I have been working for a while to get it road worthy. It is almost there. I just need the funds for another project I am working on right now. The truck has current Antique registration and plate. No inspection needed for Antigue plates. Texas title in my name. I will continue the work on the truck if it doesnt sell and get it going on the road. The price goes up as I do more work to it. This is a really sweet truck. I am asking $7500.00 I am ready to sell.
